Silva: Americas Champions League "biggest project in football for 20 years"

Riccardo Silva, founder of the MP & Silva agency and co-owner of new NASL team Miami FC, told the SB Weekly podcast that his proposed Americas Champions League (ACL) is the "biggest project in the world of football (soccer) in the last 20 years and the next 20 years".

The annual ACL would see 64 club tournament for football (soccer) teams across North, Central and South America pitted against each other in a similar format to the UEFA Champions League in Europe.

"It’s what US soccer is missing. After the MLS (Major League Soccer) Final, there isn’t something else – what we have in European football," he said.

"I think the Champions League, since the 1990s, was one of the main reasons why European football - in England, Spain and Italy - exploded globally. Thanks to the big clashes, big stories and big stage of the Champions League."

Riccardo also discuss the ACL in more detail, the reasons for him launching Miami FC, the secrets of MP & Silva's success and who he'd like to play him in a movie of his life.
